The brand new Paediatric minor injury course is aimed to deliver an interactive and enjoyable programme that provides students with specialised training and knowledge to effectively assess, manage and treat the child and young person presenting with a minor injury.
The overall goal of the paediatric minor injury course is to equip the healthcare professional with the necessary skill and confidence to provide safe and effective child friendly care for infants and children who present with minor injuries.
Candidates will be expected to complete an online anatomy and physiology pre-course quiz that will provide a foundation for the face to face sessions.
Over the two days candidates can expect Paediatric specific practical and Sim sessions covering: the history and assessment of a minor injury, sports injuries, head injuries, wound care, x-ray interpretation and the management of the patient presenting with atraumatic limb pain.
